Police appeal after vicious attack near Warwick pub

Police are seeking witnesses after an assault took place near the Millwright Arms pub in Coten End, Warwick, on Sunday between 1am and 1.15am.

The victim, a 40 year-old man, is believed to have suffered an attack by a group of men.

He describes the main attacker as a white male, aged in his 20s, about 6ft in height, with fair hair, clean shaven, and of an athletic build.

The victim sustained major head injuries and was treated at Warwick Hospital.

Prior to the incident, the victim had been in the Great Western public house in Coventry Road, Warwick, in the company of an unknown male.

This male is believed to have witnessed the attack.

After the attack, a lady, described as white, in her 50s, with blonde hair and neatly dressed approached the victim and stated she had witnessed the incident and offered her assistance to the victim.

Det Con Sarah Jackson of Warwickshire Police said: “We are appealing for the male who was with the victim prior to and during the attack and the lady who assisted the victim afterwards, as they might have vital information that can assist the investigation.

“We would also like to hear from any other potential witnesses who may have been within the area at the time.”
