Police investigate attack in which corrosive substance was thrown in Wellesbourne

Warwickshire Police are investigating after corrosive fluid was thrown into the restaurant area of a pub in Wellesbourne last night (Tuesday).

The incident occurred at around 9.05pm in the Kings Head Hotel on Warwick Road in Wellesbourne. Three people, a man and two women, sustained minor injuries during the attack requiring treatment at Warwick hospital.

A 26-year-old woman from Warwick has been arrested on suspicion of throwing a corrosive substance with intent, and remains in custody whilst enquiries continue.

Det Sgt Cindy Stephenson said “We believe this was targeted attack, and the suspect is known to the victims.

“We are continuing with a number of enquires and treating this as a serious offence.
