Police investigate unexplained death after body of a man in his thirties found in Leamington canal

Police are carrying out enquiries after the body of a man in his thirties was found in Leamington on the afternoon of Friday, October 23.
Officers were called at around 4.15pm to a report of a body being seen in the Grand Union Canal close to Old Warwick Road.
The death is currently being treated as unexplained.

Hide AdWhile formal identification is yet to take place, the man’s next of kin has been informed and they are being supported by specially trained officers.
Detective Inspector Rich Simpkins from Warwickshire Police said: “Enquires are in their early stages as we try to establish the circumstances leading to the man’s death.
"The public can expect to see a heightened police presence in the area as our officers continue to conduct their enquiries.
"At this time, we are treating the death as unexplained and we’re appealing for anyone that could help with our enquiries to get in touch.
