Police issue new photo of missing Warwick man Brian Reading

POLICE investigating the disappearance of 43-year-old Brian Reading from Warwick have issued a new photograph in the hope that it will help people to recognise him.

Mr Reading, of Cape Road, was last seen in the St John’s area of the town on July 21 after he had enjoyed a drink and horse racing on TV with friends.

He was reported missing the following day.

Friends have described Mr Reading as somebody who does not usually travel outside Warwick.

He suffers from diabetes, for which he takes medication every day, but he has not taken his medication or his mobile phone.

Police have conducted an underwater search of the canal in Cemetery Lane but this was inconclusive.

The have also searched the area around the cemetery, the towpath along the Grand Union Canal, Priory Park, St Nicholas Park and open land behind the Saxon Mill in Coventry Road.

Mr Reading is described as being 5ft 8ins tall, of medium build and with a shaved head.

When he was last seen he was wearing black lace up shoes that came up to his ankles, grey/blue jeans and a black long sleeved top with a white inset at the V area.

Anyone who sees him is asked to dial 999 immediately, and anyone with information about him or his disappearance should call Warwickshire Police on 101 or 415000.

Mr Reading’s best friend, who was one of the last people to see him before he was reported missing, will speak to the press on Monday.
