Puffins and Pelicans dive in for charity

LEAMINGTON supporters of Parkinson’s UK are committing to swimming hard for a cause that means a lot to them.

The town’s branch of the charity is entering three teams in the Soroptimists’ swimathon, which is being organised by the Warwick and Leamington and Kenilworth branches of the
women’s organisation.

The Puffins, Morning Glories and Pelicans will be joining other teams at Warwick School on October 14 to swim in relay for 55 minutes in this year’s event, which is raising funds for Parkinson’s UK and the Myton Hospices.

The combined effort by the charity’s teams in 2010 won them the trophy for the most sponsorship money raised - £250 - and members taking part this year are hoping to raise even more.

Anyone wishing to enter a team, which should consist of six swimmers, should call 492226 or email [email protected]
