Toby’s efforts were rewarded with £40 and he decided to donate the money to Lepra, a UK-based international charity that helps people who find themselves trapped by disease, poverty and prejudice.

Lepra fundraiser Eileen Evans spoke to students at Lawrence Sheriff a few weeks ago and the charity’s work inspired Toby to donate his cash prize to the cause.

Toby’s parents and teachers have praised his selflessness.

Eileen Evans, Lepra’s Regional Manager for the South, said: “We at Lepra are so impressed with Toby’s contribution and very grateful. Lepra focuses on improving the lives of those who find themselves trapped by disease, poverty and prejudice and it’s so lovely to see such a young person support and take an interest in big, important issues.”
