Rehabilitation Unit’s fundraising party

Patients at the Central England Rehabilitation Unit in Warwick Gates showed off the fruits of their labour in the new hospital garden at a fundraising party last Friday.
Part of the new garden was opened by Michael Spowart from Campion Ward. Visitors enjoyed fresh fruit and fruit-and-veg themed cakes at the volunteer-run event, while dieticians promoted the five-a-day healthy eating campaign.

Catherine Wickens, senior specialist dietitian and organiser of the hospital’s garden project group said: “It has been a real pleasure to be out in the garden with patients and their families - many of whom are keen gardeners.

“We are now able to plan sessions linked to stimulation of the five senses in a lovely outdoor environment.”
