River rescue in early hours of today

A MAN was rescued from the River Leam by fire and rescue service staff in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday).

Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service received an emergency call at about 3.44am this morning after a man had got ‘marooned’ under the Victoria Bridge near the Robbins’ Well pub in Victoria Terrace.

Crews from Leamington and Rugby attended the incident and rescue equipment was used.

The man was treated by ambulance staff.
