Robbery at Fenny Compton Co-op

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a robbery at the Co-operative store in Fenny Compton.

At around 7.45pm on Friday March 4 three men wearing dark clothing, balaclavas and gloves entered the shop in High Street and confronted two members of staff inside with knifes and a machete.

One member of staff in the front of the shop was forced into the back of the shop where a second member of staff was working.

While two of the offenders threatened the staff and stole money from the safe, the third offender opened the rear fire door, and also stole two mobile phones from staff.

The three men ran out of the back of the Co-op and got into a car, believed to be a black Ford Mondeo, parked a little further along the road on the High Street and drove off, possibly towards the A423.

Staff were shaken byt not injured, and police and police dogs made an immediate search of the area.

Officers have seized CCTV and are carrying out house to house enquiries in their search for witnesses.
