Santa Claus race cancelled due to snow

SNOW proved too much for a host of racing Father Christmases at the weekend as Myton Hospice’s Santa Dash was postponed.

The event, in which competitors dress as Santa Claus, was due to take place at Warwick Racecourse on Sunday but snow and ice made conditions too treacherous for the run to take place.

The run, intended to raise £14,000, has been rescheduled to take place at the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre on Sunday December 12 from 10am. Taking part costs £10 per person for anyone aged 13 years and over and includes a Santa suit for people to keep. There will also be a children’s 100m dash for which registration costs £5. Participants are encouraged to raise sponsorship or make donations. Registration has been reopened and will take place from 9am on the day of the run. Call 838837 for information.
