Like many businesses Warwick Books is now only trading through phone and online orders due to the coronavirus lockdown.

Joan, who is in her 80s, said: "I am an avid reader and Warwick Books is a business that offers so much to the community and it raises the profile of Warwick.

"To lose something of that calibre would be so sad so we need to save our book shop.

"It is also more than just a book shop it is a staple of the community and an asset to Warwick."

Joan, who is also a long-standing customer of the shop believes the owners provide an exceptional service.

"Mog and Pauline are absolutely exceptional, " said Joan.

"I used to come to the book shop from Solihull before I came here. Mog and Pauline also previously got me a book from America - they offer such a person service - you can't get this service in the big chains.

"They are always so helpful, obliging and pleasant and they get to know their customers and they can push them to the right genre of books.

"They also host prestigious authors such as the author of The Tattooist of Auschwitz - where else can you get that calibre."

Joan is keen for the community to join her in continuing to support the book shop during the lockdown.

"We need to make sure we support the book shop.

"You can still order books from them - they offer a delivery service - I have ordered two books myself.

"I will be be continuing to support them and so will my daughter.

"Mog and Pauline - keep doing what you always do so well."

Mog and Pauline said: "We are doing all we can to keep going and to keep our customers supplied with books.

"Unsurprisingly everything is taking a little longer to arrive into the shop and for us to reply individually to everybody as all our behind the scenes processes have become a lot more complicated.

"We’ve had an amazing response to our Book doctor offer and really good feedback from people receiving the books we’ve chosen for them.

"We are very grateful for all the support and can’t thank everyone enough."
