Solicitors bake cakes for good cause

“Keep calm and bake cakes” is the message from lawyers who have been swapping their gowns for aprons to raise money for The Myton Hospices’ 30th anniversary.

Master bakers at Blythe Liggins Solicitors in Rugby Road, Leamington, are baking cakes for a special dress down day on Friday September 21 when Myton’s corporate fundraising manager Hannah Morris will judge the winning entry.

The hospice is the firm’s chosen charity for the year and joint senior partner Richard Thornton recently handed over a cheque for £1,400, sponsorship raised by the firm in the Two Castles Run, which they have sponsored for the last seven years.

Mr Thornton said: “We have a long association with Myton, where our head of employment law Richard Moon is a trustee, and we are delighted to be supporting them throughout this year, their 30th anniversary.”

Also, this Saturday (September 15), a team of 18 Blythe Liggins staff will take part in The Myton Hospices eight-mile Moonlight Walk, which leaves Warwick Castle at 9pm.
