Superdry to move to former HMV unit at the Royal Priors in Leamington

A large and long-empty retail unit at the Royal Priors is set to be opened as a store again next month.

Clothing brand Superdry will move its shop in to the unit, which was previously occupied by HMV in the Leamington shopping centre’s upper mall, on Monday November 26 .

In September a planning application was granted to turn the majority of the unit currently occupied by Super Dry in Satchwell Court off Regent Street into a restaurant and the rest as a smaller retail space.

Details of the restaurant and shop are not yet known.

Video games store Game has also moved into a newly refurbished unit in the Upper Mall opposite New Look leaving its former site in the lower mall currently unoccupied.

The HMV store closed in January 2014 as a result of the company calling in 
administrators.

The company had been offered a 12-month rent free deal by the Royal Priors but the company still could not afford to keep it open.
