Sweet As you like - cake honour for Jenny

ONE of television’s most recognised presenters is tucking into a cake that bears the creative designs of a Leamington business owner.

As well as decorating, Jenny Hudson, who opened the Sweet As cake shop in Warwick Place in 2009, was given the honour of presenting the special treat to mark Philip Schofield’s 30th year in television on The Alan Titchmarsh Show, to be aired this afternoon (Friday).

Ms Hudson, who also owns a Sweet As cake shop in Kenilworth, said: “I was asked to be on the show last Thursday because I am an ambassador for the Prince’s Trust charity.

“Then on Monday the producers called me up to say they would like me to decorate a cake for Philip Schofield. The show was filmed on Tuesday so I had to work quickly!”

She added: “It was exciting and great for the company. Philip was really pleased to receive the cake.

It was an honour for me to present it to him.

“David Essex, Elaine Paige and Bear Grylls were there too - it was a bizarre day!”

Ms Hudson, a former pupil at Trinity School, was also interviewed by Alan Titchmarsh on the show about her experiences with the Prince’s Trust, which provided her with the loan she needed to set up her own business in 2005.
