Teenager and baby among those injured in Barford crash

FOUR people including a teenage boy and a baby were injured during a car crash in Barford on Monday.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called the junction of the A429 and Wellesbourne Road in Barford shortly before 3.30pm where a car and a van had been in a collision.

Two ambulances, two ambulance officers and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire air ambulance were sent to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival at the scene crews found a car and a van that had been in collision.

“The car had been carrying two adults and two children at the time of the incident. “The driver of the vehicle, a man believed to be in his 20’s, was treated for a fractured leg and pelvic injury.

“The man was immobilised before being airlifted to University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire for further assessment and treatment. The hospital was pre-alerted to the arrival of the man and of his injuries.

“The three other occupants, a man, a teenage boy and a baby were all treated on scene for minor injuries.

“The teenager was conveyed to Warwick Hospital, whilst the man and baby were conveyed to University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire.

“The driver of the van was assessed on scene but did not require any further hospital treatment.”
