Town’s ‘best vegetarian’ cafe has fresh new look

BRIGHT flowers and smartly dressed volunteers are now greeting visitors to the new-look Veggie Table cafe in Leamington’s Old Town.

The volunteer-run enterprise, which provides a vital source of funding for not-for-profit centre Bath Place Community Venture, has launched its new look following a refurbishment which cost the venture less than £1,000.

The cafe’s extended opening hours now include Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings and it has started a delivery service within Leamington. Speaking at the opening event, head chef Richard Clark said: “I’m here to rekindle the community cafe that we used to have in the old Bath Place. We were very successful and we are trying to build ourselves back up again.”

Warwick District councillor Sue Gallagher, who led the project, added: “It’s the best good, wholesome, fresh vegetarian food in Leamington and the food is very inexpensive. We want to make people aware of what we have to offer.“

The cafe, which is at the Old Library in Avenue Road, is running a special offer that allows under-fives to eat free of charge when accompanied by an adult buying food.
