Trees of Light campaign: Myton Hospice service lights up lives again

The charity’s Warwick hospice in Myton Lane held a special service last Sunday which was attended by hundreds of the relatives of those who had spent their final days there.

Chaplain Louise Adey Huish and included carols and emotive readings from children who attend Myton’s Rainbow Ripples children’s bereavement service.

These events are held at all of the charity’s hospices each Christmas with relatives invited to dedicate a tree light to their lost loved ones in the same way as those who donate to the Rotary Club’s ongoing Trees of Light campaign.

Myton’s Events manager Sarah Stallard said: “Our Light up a Life services are a lovely way for family and friends to remember their loved ones at Christmas.

“We would like to thank everyone who has attended all of our services this year. The £19,000 raised so far will enable us to care more patients and their families over the coming year.”

Donations can still be made to the rotary club’s campaign, which is raising funds for the Myton Hospices this year.

Lights can be dedicated to a loved on one of the special Christmas trees either outside Leamington town hall or St Margaret’s church in Whitnash.

The trees will shine throughout the Christmas period and into the new year.

Each year The Myton Hospices care for more than 2,000 people who are living or coping with terminal illness.
