UPDATE: Witness appeal after cyclist dies following collision with 4x4 near Harbury

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 33-year-old cyclist died in a collision with a red Range Rover Evoque near Harbury yesterday morning (Saturday February 20).

The collision happened at around 10.15am on the B4452 at Ufton Pools. The Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance and a paramedic area support officer were sent to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival, ambulance staff found a cyclist who had suffered very serious injuries.

“Despite extensive efforts to save the man, unfortunately, they were in vain and he was confirmed dead at the scene.

“The man driving the 4×4 was uninjured.”

Warwickshire Police have arrested a 24-year-old man from Leamington on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is on bail until early April while the investigation continues.

Any witnesses that saw either vehicle around the time of the collision are urged to contact police by calling 101 quoting incident number 131 of Saturday February 20.
