Valuable ornaments stolen from garden in Stockton

VALUABLE garden ornaments were stolen from the front garden of a house in Stockton.

The ornaments, which included life-size statues of an elderly couple sat on a metal bench reading and nursing a cat and a dog standing on its hind legs and drinking from a water feature, were made from a type of resin coated in bronze colouring.

The owners believe they were taken from their garden in Church Road at some time between 7pm on Sunday and 8am on Monday.

They had owned the expensive ornaments for several years and have said they have not seen others like them.

The ornament of the couple was very heavy and would have needed at least two people to carry it.
