Victims of fatal car crash near Chesterton named

Two men who died following a crash on the Fosse Way near Chesterton on Wednesday have been named by police.

Michael Peter Warren, 81, of Staple Hill, Wellesbourne, and Ronald Michael G Allford, 42, of Staverley Way, Rugby, died when their cars collided on the Fosse Way bridge over the M40 at around 9.10am.

Mr Warren was driving a red Honda Civic and was travelling north on the Fosseway. Mr Allford was driving a red Volkswagen Polo and was travelling south.

A third vehicle was involved in the accident, a silver Ford Focus mpv that was travelling north on the Fosseway. The driver, a 61-year-old man from Harbury, was uninjured.

Police are still appealing for witnesses.
