Village field to be transformed into orchard

A field on the outskirts of Long Itchington will be transformed into a orchard with a picnic area and wildflower meadow.

As part of a development program, 14 employees of DHL have joined forces with LILAC (Long Itchington Leisure And Community Project). LILAC conducted a survey within the village to find out what the residents would most like to see done with the field off the A423 Marton Road just north of The Duck on the Pond pub - and the team from DHL has been tasked with organising the transformation, which has taken four months to plan. Work started on the project at the beginning on this week - and children from the village primary school came along to get involved.
