Volunteer appeal to help run restored wheelwrights’ yard

Volunteers are needed to help run the BBC Restoration-winning Chedham’s Yard in Wellesbourne.

Roles include tour guides, ticket office assistants, cafe workers, site supervisors and volunteer co-ordinators. Experience of working with IT is useful for some roles but full training will be provided and people of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

The yard is looking for people who can regularly commit to four to five hours a week, including working on Saturday open days between May and October, but there are roles which allow volunteers to work from home if they prefer.

Those who volunteer will be invited to regular social events and receive a newsletter and travel expenses will be reimbursed.

The yard is holding open events at the Methodist church in Wellesbourne for anyone interested next Friday (March 8) from 6pm to 8.30pm and on March 16 from 12.30pm to 5.30pm.
