The students from the Pauline Quirke Academy in Warwick were given the opportunity to perform on the Videopolis Stage in Disneyland Park earlier this month.

Numbers they entertained their audience with included We Will Rock You, You Can’t Stop the Beat, Grease, Rum Tum Tuggar and Just Can’t Wait to be King - while principal Debbie Hotten was also keen to showcase dance routines from the show Cats, following the success of the academy’s sell-out performance of Cats Abridged at the Spa Centre in May.

The Pauline Quirke Academy (PQA) is a weekend performing arts school for four to 18-year-olds, with core modules in comedy and drama, musical theatre and film and television. As well as taking part in productions and showcases, students have also had the chance to see their own short film projects on the big screen when they attended an Oscar style film event at the Vue Cinema in Leamington, and the academy will soon be holding a comedy festival.

PQA Warwick is opening an afternoon academy this autumn, with a free open day taking place on Saturday September 26 at the Aylesford School in Warwick from 1.30pm to 4.45pm.
