Warwick fundraising event to helpmembers of royal fusiliers

Young fusiliers Ryan Hyndman, Ashley Davis and Tariq Malin and Capt John Lam, dressed smartly in ‘civvies’, posed for photographs with guests at the evening at Art and Wine in High Street last Thursday.

Teams toured the venue and were tested on their knowledge of the art on display while sampling wine.

Lyn Bolton, who lives in Warwick, made the highest bid for a VIP lunch for two at the regiment’s headquarters in the Tower of London.

Photographer Danielle King provided her services for free and more than £1,500 was raised for the cause.

The event was organised by Sue and Jane Robbins.

Jane said: “This is the first wine tasting quiz for 80 that Art and Wine and ourselves have organised and it was great that people could come on their own and join in.

“Once everyone had located their team members they really enjoyed themselves and the atmosphere was so friendly.”

The women have planned more charity events.
