Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance flies into Leamington after man is injured in loft fall

WARWICKSHIRE and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance was called to action after a man fell 20ft from a loft in Leamington this week.

The incident happened at Rossmore House in Newbold Terrace on Wednesday at about 10.30am.

An ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and the air ambulance attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews arrived to find a man in his 20s who had reportedly fallen approximately 20 feet from a loft inside a property.

“The man had suffered a chest injury and a suspected fractured leg in the fall. Crews administered pain relief to the man before placing his leg in a splint and immobilising him with a neck collar and spinal board.

“The man was transferred to the awaiting air ambulance, which had landed in a park opposite, before he was airlifted to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for further assessment and treatment.”

The air ambulance landed and took off from Jephson Gardens, where Courier photographer Jass Lall took the attached pictures.
