The rally has been organised as part of Warwickshire Pride’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT+) History Month activities, which are running throughout February.

It will promote a message of peace, love, inclusion and acceptance for all people due to LGBT+ people still facing discrimination and persecution nationally and in many countries around the world.

The rally is open for all to join.

There will be speeches on the day, plus an appearance from the famous drag queen and LGBT+ activist Sassi Afrika.

Signs promoting love and equality have been made by Warwickshire Pride’s Proud Youth LGBT+ group, with some of the group members attending the rally too.

A film crew and photographer will capture the rally, which will be used to inspire, empower and educate people in order to achieve further inclusion and acceptance of LGBT+ people.

Warwickshire Pride’s Chair of Trustees, Daniel Browne, said: “The Equal Love Rally is coming to Leamington Spa this Saturday and will be peacefully promoting a message of love and freedom for all people. As it’s fifty years since the decriminalisation of homosexuality, our theme as a charity this year is Love & Freedom. Sadly, many LGBT+ people face discrimination and persecution in many countries around the world.

We believe in peace, love and freedom for all people, and that’s what the Equal Love Rally shall be promoting.
