And there are a total of £20,000 in prizes on offer in the charity’s Christmas superdraw, which is bigger than ever to celebrate the lottery’s 20th anniversary.

As well as doubling the usual top prize of the quarterly draw from £5,000 to £10,000, the hospices are also giving away a second prize of £5,000, five prizes of £1,000 and another 243 cash prizes of up to £125.

Regular lottery players will be automatically entered into the Christmas superdraw, but Myton is hoping that the £10,000 prize will also encourage frequent players to purchase more tickets in order to better their chances of winning the top prize.

The money raised by the lottery helps to fund the care of one in four patients at the charity’s three hospices each year.

Ruth Freeman, director of income generation and marketing, said: “The Myton Hospices need to raise over £8 million a year to run the services we provide at all our hospices.

“The Myton lottery and Christmas superdraw are important sources of income for us and allow us to continue to provide excellent care and support to our patients and their loved ones for as long as they need us.

“Our generous supporters who play the lottery have helped to raise millions of pounds over the last 20 years. We want to give something back to them by offering them the chance to win our superdraw jackpot.”

Tickets cost £1 and are available at the hospices in Warwick, Rugby and Coventry, at any of Myton’s charity shops and online at lottery.mytonhospice.org

The winner of the draw will be announced on Friday December 18.

Further information about the lottery and how to register can be found online or by calling the lottery team on 01926 407902.
