Woman punched by unknown attacker in Warwick

AN ATTACKER punched a woman to the face in an assault in Warwick in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The man had got out off a small, dark red car near the gates of Woodloes School in Deansway at around 4am and punched the woman to the face.

She fell to the floor but managed to run away and return home, where ambulance staff treated her for shock and facial injuries.

The attacker is described as white, of big build and with blonde hair. He was wearing thick rimmed glasses, black tracksuit bottoms, a black hoody with gold writing on the front which read ‘CROSSHATCH’, and plain unbranded white trainers.

Officers are checking CCTV footage and carrying out house to house enquiries in their search for witnesses.

Anyone who saw or heard anything or recognises the description of the man should contact temporaty detective constable Ben Davis at Leamington police station on 451111 quoting incident 75 of August 18.
