Woman sustains life-threatening injuries after being hit by van

A woman sustained life-threatening injuries when she was hit by a van in Southam on Tuesday.

The incident took place in Coventry Street at about 11.30am.

A rapid response vehicle, an ambulance, a paramedic and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance attended the scene.

An off duty paramedic also treated the patient.

The woman, believed to be in her 60s, received emergency treatment at the scene by medics.

She was airlifted to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for further treatment.
