Dormouse, trained at Wilmcote by Anabel Murphy, has not been seen out since falling at the penultimate flight at Kempton Park in April, but could record a fourth course win in the 2015 Dealer Principal Event Handicap Hurdle, another race with a guaranteed prize fund of £10,000.

Although his last win was ten months ago, Dormouse is back down to a rating of 118, just 1lb higher than for that success and has an each-way chance in what looks a competitive contest.

Handsome Buddy, owned and trained by Michael Gates at Clifford Chambers, should go well in the Hague Print Management Handicap Chase. He scored at Worcester 13 months ago with tomorrow’s jockey Mickey Hamill on board and is back close to his winning handicap mark.

But, the vote goes to Badgers Retreat, who did well to be beaten just a head by Court Of Law at the last meeting after Gavin Sheehan’s saddled slipped, his best effort since gaining back-to-back victories in the spring of 2013. He races off the same mark of 94 tomorrow.

Top Spin was pulled out late on from races at Stratford and Newton Abbot because of rain-softened ground, but he should get his conditions this time in the Ken Muir Memorial Handicap Hurdle.
