England call-ups for Droobers

Aimee Morse (W14), Rachel Emmerson (W16), Harrison McCartney (M14) and Matt Elkington (M16) will join 20 other juniors for the event which will be staged in Northern Ireland.

Julie Emmerson (W16) and Will Gardner (M18) are reserves.

The tricky woodland courses and high undergrowth made Droobers’ event at Haywood, Baddesley Clinton, a challenging one.

Xiaoying Li (W21) came first on the Yellow 1.7k short course in 23min 1sec, followed by newcomer Jack Coathup (M12) in 25:56 and Alexander Hague (M10) in 27:46.

On the medium length 4.2k course, Paul Furness (M55) was first in 47:59, while a great run of 37:56 by Dan Halliday (M21) on the long 5.2k course put him well ahead of Chris McCartney (M40, 43:11) and Phil Clark (M40, 45:53).
