Depleted Town exit Challenge Vase

HENLEY FOREST 2 KENILWORTH TOWN 0

Kenilworth bowed out of the Challenge Vase on Saturday after work, injuries and suspensions robbed them of 15 players.

“It was madness,” said manager Kev Kingham. “Until we can get a settled squad we’re going to be battling to get a run together.”

Town were left to rue missed chances as they went in 1-0 down, although they felt aggrieved not to have been awarded a penalty after a poor challenge in the box which the Forest defender even apologised for.

Harry and Scott Easterlow both tested the Henley keeper after the break, but it was the home side who scored the crucial second goal to confirm their progress.

Town are without a game tomorrow.

Kenilworth Town’s ladies produced a strong opening against Solihull Ladies before eventually succumbing to a 3-1 defeat.

Bonnie Mountford scored Town’s consolation goal.
