Rugby reunion for Racing Club assistant boss

RACING Club Warwick welcome assistant manager Tony Clarke’s former club Rugby Town to Townsend Meadow tomorrow (3pm).

It will be Racers’ second pre-season fixture after last Saturday’s home clash with Redditch United was postponed.

An impromptu game between the first-team squad and the reserves on Tuesday night did give manager Curly O’Callaghan the chance to cast his eye over the club’s emerging talent, with the former Woodford boss admitting he has some tough decisions to make ahead of their Midland Combination Premier opener on August 4.

One of those concerns a strike partner for Tommy Waldock, who has confirmed his move from Daventry United.

Marcel Richards was in possession of the shirt for the opening friendly against Stratford Town, but O’Callaghan is also expected to run the rule over alternatives from Stratford Town and Banbury.
