Triumphant trio for Warwick Golf Club’s June Medal event

There were great results for some of the hierarchy in the June Monthly Medal at Warwick Golf Club.

Club champion Rob Buckingham won the First Division Medal with a brilliant gross 69, which gave him a net 64 (five handicap).

He was closely followed by his son Dan Buckingham with 72 – (seven for net 65).

Behind him was club treasurer Steve Slack who won the quarterly Seniors Medal with 81 (14 for net 67).

The third medal in this competition was the Second Division, which was won 
by the club captain Dave Ward.

He carded a steady 93 (24 for net 69) and was closely followed by James Holtby’s 98 (28 for net 70).

Simon Bisp took the top honour in the June Medal at Kenilworth Golf Club.

He carded 78 (net 68), to finish one shot clear of runner-up Chris Peake on 79 (net 69).

Dean Sparrow, who posted the best gross round, claimed third place with 75 (net 72) 
by virtue of a better back 
nine than Mick Coop (81, net 72).

The B Division winner was Stuart Macleod on 79 (net 67), who won from David Sercombe (83, net 70), Dave Turrall (83, net 70) and Phil Lissaman (82, net 71).

Michael Beckett, with 89 (net 63), proved to be a convincing winner of the C Division from John Coppin (91, net 69), Derrick Richardson (93, net 70) and Paul Duke (88, net 71).

Meanwhile, Mark and Sue Draper lifted the Morton Cup at Crewe Lane.

They came out on top in the mixed greensome competition from John and Tina Coppin, while James Lamond and Caroline Durbin carded the best gross score.
