McGreavy: injury hurdle overcome

It has been a long road back for McGreavy who underwent knee surgery early in 2009.

However, after successfully completing a much-reduced outdoor season last summer, the former North Leamington School pupil has trained throughout the winter without disruption.

Now the Sale Harrier has her sights set on making the Great Britain squad for March’s European Indoor Championships in Paris.

“After a couple of years injured, it has been a hard challenge to get back to where I believe I can be,” said McGreavy, who has a best for the 100m hurdles of 13.2 seconds.

“I am feeling in incredible shape and looking forward to what is in store over the coming weeks.”

McGreavy’s first appearance of 2011 saw her catch the eye of the Great Britain selectors with first place in the 60m hurdles at the Manchester Open in a time of 8.35 seconds.

Her busy schedule sees her taking part in a meeting tomorrow in Loughborough, where she hopes to secure the UK number one slot, before the Great Britain trials take place on February 13.
