Savery on the comeback trail with runners-up spot at Coventry Godiva 5
The Leamington C&AC athlete’s time was not enough for him to claim top spot at War Memorial Park - that went to in-form home athlete Toby Spencer (25:48) - but it did give him second and district bragging rights.
Stephen Page was fourth in a personal best of 26:46, producing a real captain’s performance to lead Kenilworth Runners to the men’s team prize.

Hide AdAndy Siggers was seventh in 27:07, with Connor Carson (8th in 27:12) and Kev Hope (10th in 28:46) ensuring Kenilworth now have an unassailable lead in the Warwickshire Road Race League.
First home for Spa Striders’ men was Will Johnson in ninth in a best of 28:28, followed by Paul Edwards (29:21)and Kevin White (29:55).
Leamington C&AC’s John Knibb was 14th and first V50 in 29:13, with Natalie Bhangal the next C&AC athlete home to claim fourth lady in 31:20.
Bhangal was involved in a thrilling mini battle in the women’s race, with Kenilworth Runners’ Danielle Bryan handed the same time for fifth lady and C&AC clubmate Zara Blower just three seconds back.

Hide AdMonica Williamson completed the C&AC’s team-winning trio in 32:20.
Imogen Peace (1st LV40) recorded a new PB of 31:57 to secure the team second for Kenilworth alongside Bryan and Laura Pettifer, whose 33:56 was also a best.
Striders’ Carolyn Wilkinson won her age group and climbed to first place in the league series with a season’s best time of 31:59, with Jennie Hawkins (33:08) and a PB-running Caroline Whitehouse (33:58) completing the scoring team.
Kenilworth youths also had excellent runs with Abi Collister (38:50), Poppy Jefferson (40:30) and Kirsty Smith (53:33) filling first, second and fourth spots in the under-20 ladies.

Hide AdThere were also new bests for Courtney Thornberry (35:54), Gemma Ellis (36:04), Jenny Philpott (36:39), Samantha Moffat (42:14) and Angela Dowden (42:15).
Eleanor Fowler of Nuneaton Harriers was the first lady home in 30:00.
