The championship is held annually between the four home nations and the Republic of Ireland.

The course was a 2k loop with plenty of variety in terrain with the runners negotiating many twists through woodland and open country.

Williamson, competing in the W50 category over three laps, ran a well-judged race to finish as second scorer for England in 22:01 (4th in category and 21st overall).

Also in Cardiff, Phil Gould became the first Kenilworth Runner to pull on the white vest of England.

Running in the V35 category, Gould came in as third counter, clocking 25:40 (12th in category) for the four laps and earning bronze in the process.
