Here are 16 photos that we printed in the Courier and Weekly News that illustrate the ups and downs of 2019.
9. End of an era
After nearly 40 years, dedicated Leamington greengrocer Richard Clarke said a heartfelt thank you to his supporter club of customers after closing his store for the last time in the spring. Richard had worked at the family business at 110 Warwick Street from the age of 14 in 1980 and took over from his brother as the owner a few years later. Photo: Mike Baker
10. Bridging the generation gap
Year one pupils from The Kingsley School visited the Priors House Care Home in Old Milverton, Leamington, to participate in a number of intergenerational activities as part of World Book Day on March 7.
The pupils and residents shared their favourite books, from 'Treasure Island' to 'The Not-So-Perfect Penguin', reading sections to each other and discussing the stories. The pupils also shared their own writing, and the whole group joined in a read-along of 'The Gingerbread Man', before decorating their own gingerbread man biscuits.
11. Farewell to an historic building
In November, the remains of the Great Western pub in Warwick finally came down. What is now a site of rubble once stood a beautiful Victorian building, now lost forever. The building caught fire in 2018 and was demolished to make way for houses. Photo: Geoff Ousbey
12. TV cameras come to town
Warwick residents were greeted with the unusual site of snow in June - well, not real snow. The BBC film crews were at the Lord Leycester Hospital for the filming of 'A Christmas Carol'.
